The Old Farm Shop

A family-run business, producing good quality fruit & vegetables, excellent free-range eggs and great meat. 

A great support of the monthly Chilton Produce Market held at the Rose and Crown

English Springer Spaniel Welfare
English Springer Spaniel Welfare was formed in 1990 and is both recognised by the Kennel Club and is a registered charity. It is run by volunteers, all of whom own or have owned English Springers. Hilary Groves is the Oxfordshire Co-ordinator and will be manning a fund raising stall at our festivities.



Sterling Works and Smashing Glass
Hand-made sterling silver, dichroic glass and beadwork jewellery, together with fused and mosaic glass candle-holders, dishes and sun-catchers.
Didcot & District Twinning Association
The Twinning Association promotes relationships between Didcot and surrounding villages and partner towns: Meylan, near Grenoble, France; and Planegg, near Munich, Germany. We facilitate links between individuals, clubs, societies and schools through regular exchange visits and newsletters. Chilton School is interested in developing links with a primary school in Meylan.

CODE OF PRACTICE FOR CONTRACTORS, EXHIBITORS, ATTRACTIONS AND PROMOTIONAL DISPLAYS CHILTON VILLAGE FESTIVAL – SATURDAY - 6 JUNE 2015

The success of this event is to be measured not only by the enjoyment of people attending but also by the successful management of health, safety and welfare. One accident could potentially spoil the day for many people. To ensure the day is memorable and safe you are to comply with this Code of Practice.

1. The entrance to Village Hall may be a very busy area, take great care in this area and take notice of any notices or marshal’s instructions. If you are unsure of any instruction stop and ask for clarification.

2. The grass areas are likely to be soft, especially if there has been recent rain, you are not to park anyvehicles on grass areas unless specific permission has been requested and approved. You are not to park any vehicles on resident’s property or designated parking areas.

3. Connections to any electrical supplies will not be made without prior notice of intention to use electrical equipment with a statement of requirements – which must be approved by the Festival Health and Safety Adviser (please note there is no electrical provision).

4. All portable electrical equipment brought onto the Festival site must be in date for Portable Appliance Testing and documented evidence of testing must be produced if requested.

5. All equipment subject to statutory inspection, thorough examination or testing must be in date for test and documented evidence of these inspections must be produced if requested.

6. If you require to penetrate the ground with any equipment you should give prior notice to the Festival Health and Safety Adviser who will arrange for the necessary permit to be issued.

7. Where LPG or hazardous substances are stored they must be stored iaw current legislation.

8. Should you have an accident whilst on the Festival site you are to report the accident to the Festival Health and Safety Adviser before leaving the site. First aid cover will be provided at the Festival site, the location(s) will be clearly signposted on the day.

9. Should you identify any hazards please inform the Event Project Manager, Health and Safety Adviser or Festival Committee Member immediately.

10. You are advised that during the day musical / entertainment acts may make loud and sudden noise.

11. Ensure that any litter you produce is not allowed to be blown around and that it is disposed of correctly. You are responsible for keeping the area immediately around your location clean and tidy during the Festival and prior to your departure.

12. Be aware of your equipment creating trip hazards to other persons and guard / mitigate appropriately.

13. Should you consider, at any time, that the safety of any individual or group of individuals is being compromised please inform your nearest Committee Member, Health and Safety Adviser or Project Manager.

14. A Tanoy announcement system will be operating during the day, please listen to and obey all announcements.

15. Risk assessments are to be completed for all activities and forwarded to the Festival Health and Safety Adviser along with copies of relevant insurance before the event. Should there be queries on any aspect of the above please contact either of the undersigned.
