News

On behalf of Chilton Parish Council and Chilton Village Hall Management Committee I would like to pass on my heartfelt thanks to all those who helped and assisted in making the Chilton Village Festival such a great event.   With well over a 1000 people attending and over £700 raised towards improvements within the Chilton Village Hall the Festival was an outstanding success.

The enlarged and refurbished Chilton Village Hall provided the ideal centre piece for the Festival with excellent facilities and ample space for all.  It was good to see so many folk from the local community enjoying the relaxed ‘village’ atmosphere, as well as attending the poignant Harwell Stone Memorial Service before returning for an evening of live music.

The Festival would not have been possible without the contribution from volunteers and support of local businesses, individuals, companies, organisations and stallholders.  Thank you!!

Looking to the future for the Chilton Village Festival to continue there is a need for a small dedicated team of volunteers to come forward to take up the mantle and build on the success of the last two years.  If you are interested in organising and running the Chilton Festival next year please contact Bob Girling – gnilrig@gmail.com.

To all those who made the Chilton Village Festival possible and for those who attended……thank you!

Background

Chilton Village Festival
Saturday 6 June 2015

Preparations are underway for the 2015 Chilton Village Festival that will take place on Saturday 6 June 2015.

The event will build on the success of last year’s Festival and is aimed at further strengthening the bonds of the expanding Chilton Village Community.  The Festival will be an ideal venue to showcase and promote the activities of local clubs, societies, businesses and individual/group performers.

This year’s event will be centred on the newly expanded and refurbished Chilton Village Hall and, as last year, will coincide with the commemoration service at the Harwell Campus memorial stone which will be organised by The Royal British Legion.

This is a non-profit event and relies on volunteers, local groups, businesses and individuals to get actively involved therefore, if you wish to:

-       Volunteer to assist in organising the Festive,
-       Provide a stall, act or demonstration,
-       Provide sponsorship
-       Or have a good idea for making the event enjoyable and fun

Then please contact or e-mail Bob Girling at gnilrig@gmail.com

For further updates please check out the Chilton Village Festival Blog: http://chiltonfestival2015.blogspot.co.uk/

This is your Festival so please get involved and put the date in your diary!
